I am a CIFRE PhD student in soil mechanics and computer experiments. My research focuses on applying computer experiments methodologies to numerical simulators in soil mechanics, including statistical approximation of simulators, global sensitivity analysis, and set inversion using monitoring data. The objective of my PhD is to develop a 3D finite element simulator of Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) excavation to estimate the induced surface deformations, and to use this simulator to better control tunneling projects in urban areas. This work takes place in the Grand Paris Express context, where more than 20 TBMs are excavating simultaneously, potentially causing damage to surface structures.
